Step into a summer filled with clean, healthy, beautiful skin with these microbiome-friendly products.

STEP 1: Exfoliate

What it Does: Exfoliation is the process of removing dead, compacted skin cells that can dull the skin’s appearance and prevent maximum absorption of treatment and moisturizing products. Chemical exfoliation is the process of using gentle exfoliants derived from alpha hydroxy acids which loosen the bonds that hold dead skin cells to the surface. Physical exfoliation is the process of using exfoliating particles to help sweep the loosened cells from the skin’s surface. A combination of both is the most effective way to exfoliate.

Gary’s Picks: Refreshing Tonic and Rejuvenating Microdermabrasion Treatment

How to Use: After cleansing, apply a liberal amount of Refreshing Tonic to the skin and allow to penetrate. The phytic acid in this formula will provide gentle chemical exfoliation. Afterward, apply a generous amount of Rejuvenating Microdermabrasion Treatment, massage onto the skin to easily remove dead surface cells.

  • Don’t Forget:
    • This combination treatment can be used on both face and body (including hands and feet).
    • Exfoliated skin will more readily absorb any additional products, maximizing their benefits.
    • Exfoliation is a key step of anti-aging, helping to restore the skin’s natural turn-over rate and aiding the skin in the production of collagen and elastin.
    • Plus, makeup will last longer on exfoliated skin.

STEP 2: Purify / Detox

What it Does: A key function of the skin is to act as a barrier and filter for elements outside and inside our body. Keeping the pores cleared of debris will help the skin’s filtration system to function at maximum capacity. This process will help maximize the removal of toxins and metabolic waste from the body, normalize over production of sebum and allow the skin to better absorb nutrients from your skin care products.

Gary’s Pick: Purifying Charcoal Mask

How to Use: Apply a liberal amount to the skin and allow to dry for a maximum of 15 minutes. The combination of natural clays and charcoal will help to absorb toxins and debris from pores while the prebiotic and probiotic ingredients work to help support the health and balance of the skin microbiome. Use up to 3 times per week.

  • Don’t Forget:
    • Both clay and charcoal are effective at helping to speed recovery from acne blemishes.
    • TruAura’s Purifying Charcoal Mask can be used as an effective spot treatment for acne blemishes by applying a pea sized amount directly to the acne blemish.

STEP 3: Hydrate

What it Does: Dehydrated skin is like what happens to a grape when you dry it out…it loses its smooth plumpness and becomes wrinkly, like a raisin.  Hydration is the amount of water in the skin, and hydrators are formulated with ingredients (humectants) designed to increase water content by catching moisture from the air and delivering it to the skin’s layers. Hydrated skin absorbs moisture and keeps the skin soft and supple.

Gary’s Pick: Balancing Mist

How to Use: TruAura’s Balancing Mist is a versatile addition to any skin care regimen. Apply at any step in your skin care regimen prior to moisturizer to lock in moisture. For maximum benefits, apply a spritz between each application of treatment products.  This process is called ‘skin flooding’, which will dramatically increase the skin’s hydration.

Don’t Forget:

  • TruAura’s Balancing Mist can also be used throughout the day as a cooling, refreshing mist and is equally effective on face, body and hair.
  • It also makes an effective setting spray to provide a moisture lock to keep makeup in place for prolonged wear.
  • Great skin comes from within. In addition to keeping your skin hydrated topically, drinking adequate amounts of water and eating foods rich in water will help to keep the skin hydrated and performing optimally.

STEP 4: Repair and Treat Sun Damage

What it Does: UV light causes photoaging in the form of brown spots, coarse skin and wrinkles, whether you have burned your skin or not. When sunlight comes in contact with skin a cascade of damage results (including the stripping of barrier lipids) causing inflammation, production of reactive oxygen molecules that affect healthy cell growth, and stimulation of collagen destructing enzymes.

Gary’s Pick: Advanced Repair Night Treatment

How to Use: TruAura’s Advanced Repair Night Treatment is the perfect addition to any skin care regimen to help delay and prevent damage associated with UV exposure and oxidative damage.  Apply each night to visibly diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, soften skin appearance while restoring even skin tone and support the process of overnight recovery and cell renewal.

Don’t Forget:

  • TruAura’s Advanced Repair Night Treatment contains Acetyl Hexapeptide-51(Immortal Peptide), a peptide solution specifically designed to enhance the natural mechanisms to diminish the DNA damage and protect genetic integrity. Helps to reduce existing cellular DNA damage and delay deterioration of cells, therefore helping to prevent and delay the visible signs of aging.
  • TruAura’s Balancing Mist and Replenishing Night Cream contain an advanced probiotic ingredient called Bifida Ferment Lysate, which helps to expedite recovery following UV exposure. Apply liberally to the affected area to help minimize the redness and irritation from over sun exposure.

Soothe

What it Does: An effective moisturizer has many roles in keeping the skin in tip-top condition. Not only should an effective moisturizer lock in skin hydration and provide prolonged moisture, but also contain ingredients that soothe the skin, provide anti-oxidant protection, replenish the skin’s barrier function and help support the health and balance of the skin microbiome with prebiotic and probiotic ingredients.

Gary’s Pick:  Replenishing Body Lotion

How to Use: Apply a generous amount to clean, dry skin. Massage to absorb.

Don’t Forget:
