HOW TO PLAN EARLY & GIFT YOURSELF THE GIFT OF TIME
Everyone has felt the struggle of trying to keep up with the rush of holiday planning — we’re advocates for spreading the cheer but also giving yourself the gift of relaxation come December. Starting early is the easiest way to give yourself some padding of time, so you can sit back and relax.
What’s the easiest way to do this, you ask? Here are our easiest tips below to get started
Steps
1. Make a list of people
2. Set aside space in your home to collect gifts
3. Use post-its to label items, giftwrap in bulk.
4. Don’t obsess over perfection
MAKE A LIST OF PEOPLE
This seems pretty intuitive, but the easiest thing to do is quickly jot down all the people you want to gift this year. If you have great handwriting, that’s great, but we also love using Excel or Google Sheets to keep our life organized. We’ve even made a handy Google template for you to use here.
SET ASIDE SPACE IN YOUR HOME TO COLLECT GIFTS
If you’re starting early the best way to stay organized is to set aside space in your closet or use a basket/container/box (anything works) to keep them all in one spot!
USE POST-ITS TO LABEL ITEMS, GIFTWRAP IN BULK.
We also like using post-it notes to keep everything organized — as you put items into storage — quickly label who the item is for. Once you’re done shopping, set aside time to gift wrap or package everything at one time. It’ll save you a lot of energy when it comes to cleaning up!
DON’T OBSESS OVER PERFECTION
It’s truly the thought that counts. Put that energy into writing a thoughtful note. If you’re not the most expressive with your words, get a few pictures of your favorite memories with the recipient printed, and include that with the gift. In an age of digital memories, it’s always special to receive a printed photograph.
During the holiday season, all delivery carriers will see an unprecedented surge in support of online shopping. Plan ahead and order early to help ensure your holiday gifts and purchases arrive on time!
